Balsiai Water Mill

Perched on the banks of the Lėvuo River, the Balsiai water mill is one of the oldest mills in Lithuania, dating back to 1764. Its history spans several centuries, during which the mill experienced periods of prosperity, operating three grinding stones and a wool carding machine, as well as periods of neglect during the Soviet era, when it suffered from a collapsed roof and deteriorating stone walls. In the 1990s, the mill was revived thanks to the initiative of the Pasvalys Land Reclamation Construction Directorate, transforming it into a banquet hall. Currently, this historic building is privately owned, but it has retained its past charm. Visitors to the mill can explore an exhibition of ancient farming equipment and ethnographic household items. The guesthouse offers comfortable accommodation, and the spacious environment is ideal for family celebrations and other events, inviting visitors to experience the history of the mill.
