the virtual global sundial atlas at www.sundialatlas.net. Velniakalnis and its sundial reflect the ancient Baltic tradition of using large stones to mark significant places, such as crossroads, burial sites, land boundaries, and celestial observation points. Additionally, Velniakalnis hosts various festivals and events, including Midsummer (Joninės), the commemoration of Statehood Day on July 6, and the lighting of the Baltic Unity fire on September 22, further cementing its cultural and historical significance.
