The Juozo Masiulio bookstore in Panevėžys is the oldest Lithuanian bookstore in the country, founded in 1905 by the book smuggler J. Masiulis after the abolition of the press ban. This bookstore became a cultural hub during the interwar period, and its interior, along with preserved relics such as a portrait of J. Masiulis and a painting of Grand Duke Vytautas, reminds us of the historical times. The bookstore is still managed by the founder's descendants, who continue to preserve the heritage.
