Church of the Holy Trinity in Panevėžys

Built in 1812, the oldest church in Panevėžys is a stone masonry building in the style of romantic classicism with a single tower. After the 1831 uprising, the church was closed, and in 1847 it was converted into a Byzantine-style church. In 1918, the church was returned to the Catholics, who installed altars, organs, and restored the original architecture. In 1927, it was handed over to the Marian Order, and the rector, Father Jurgis Tilvytis, decorated the interior. In the churchyard stand sculptures by Juozas Lebednykas and Alfridas Pajuodis, further enriching the historical significance of the church.
