In Lubių Village, a monumental cross and a memorial marker honor the partisans who perished on August 12, 1948, at Simonas Gaudučis' homestead: Juozas Martinaitis, leader of the Bugantas Company; deputy leader Kazimieras Stropas; communications chief Aleksas Malakauskas; and liaison officer Apolonija Gaudutienė. This location served as the headquarters of the Bugantas Company of the Kardo Unit in the Žemaičiai District.
The cross, created by Vytautas Končius, was erected in 2012 through the initiative of the Kartenos Eldership. The memorial marker, designed by Romas Navickas, was initiated in 2013 by Lieutenant General Arvydas Pocius, Commander of the Lithuanian Armed Forces, and Juozapas Antanas Viluckas, who commemorated the Independence struggles in the Kartenos region. These symbols of remembrance were ceremonially unveiled on June 6, 2014.
