In the courtyard of St. Andrew the Apostle Church (Bažnyčios St. 11, Tūbausiai Village), a monumental cross stands in memory of the partisans of the Širvydas Company of the Kardo Unit in the Žemaičiai District: Pranas Katkus, Steponas Katkus, Juozas Petreikis, Gediminas Pocius, and Juozas Narmontas, who died from wounds in June 1948, after the battle on March 28, 1948.
This memorial was erected in 2003 through the initiative of Jonas Čeponis and Julijonas Mickus. The cross was crafted by Ramutis Mažeika. The monument symbolizes the struggle of Lithuanian partisans for freedom and serves as a reminder of the importance of the country’s history.
