The Rabbit Museum, located in Duokiškis, has become a local pride and a unique attraction. The idea to collect a hundred rabbits originated with the residents of Duokiškis, but the project unexpectedly gained international attention. Herbert Müller from Germany, inspired by the museum's concept, donated his personal rabbit collection to Duokiškis.
The museum showcases over 300 different rabbit-themed items, including toys, souvenirs, magnets, postage stamps, postcards, and even a special Canadian 15-dollar coin commemorating the Year of the Rabbit in 2011. Notable exhibits include the mascot from the film Keinohrhasen, a musical rabbit carousel, and moving, whistling rabbits. Each item has its own story, delighting visitors with its charm and humor.
The Rabbit Museum highlights the origin of Duokiškis' name and the uniqueness of the area. Visits must be arranged in advance.
