This majestic stone, positioned in front of the Šimkūnai homestead, serves as a marker of time, carrying messages from the past when glaciers sculpted our landscape. The visible portion above the ground attests to the power of nature. In 1985, land reclamation work brought this massive boulder back to life when it was transplanted from its original location to a new resting place. Although the attempt to move the giant closer to the road was fraught with challenges, the power of tractors prevailed, and the stone now rests, embedded about a meter into the ground.
This unique natural creation is a state-protected natural monument with impressive dimensions of 4.5x3x2.5 meters. Its size, beauty, and geological significance are truly awe-inspiring, making it a focal point for visitors to this discovery site.
