The monument dedicated to Juozas Tonkūnas and the lecturers of the Agricultural Academy who returned from exile is an impressive bronze and stone work, created by sculptor Vladas Vildžiūnas and architect Rimantas Dičius. The central part features a bas-relief of Juozas Tonkūnas with an inscription highlighting his contributions as rector, Minister of Education, and his experiences as a prisoner and exile from 1941 to 1955. The reverse side of the monument lists the names of 80 lecturers from the Agricultural Academy who were deported on June 13, 1941. Standing 3.96 meters tall, the monument was unveiled on June 14, 1991, marking the 50th anniversary of that tragic deportation.
