The grave of Stasys Gražinskas-Vanagas, who perished in August 1945 in the village of Šulaičiai, and the remnants of the surrounding bunkers are significant historical landmarks in the Klaipėda district that reflect Lithuania's freedom struggles. His grave is marked by a headstone with a cross, erected on October 18, 1990. Nearby lies a bunker that once served as a hideout and storage place. This area, where fierce battles with Soviet forces took place on December 15, 1944, stands as a testament to the events of the past and the bravery of the partisans.
Close to the grave is a monument dedicated to the partisans of 1940–1960, unveiled
on June 24, 1989. This site serves as an important educational and cultural landmark, attracting history enthusiasts and tourists eager to deepen their understanding of the partisan movement's significance in Lithuanian history. The monument was created by local resident Jonas Razmantas to honor the memory of the fallen partisans.
The various hideouts and bunker pits in the area are a testimony to the life and struggles of the partisans, showcasing the strategic importance of the site and the preparedness to withstand enemy attacks. Visiting these sites not only evokes echoes of the past but also fosters gratitude for today's freedom.
