The Skuodas Museum is one of the most significant historical heritage points in Samogitia, established in 1992 in the Skuodas Manor palace, which dates back to the time of King Sigismund Augustus and the prominent Lithuanian noble families—the Chodkevičius and the Sapiega families. Over the centuries, the building has changed owners and purposes, becoming an essential site for culture and tourism, housing unique exhibits that reflect the history of Skuodas and Lithuania. The museum features five permanent exhibitions reflecting the history of Skuodas town’s development, traditional crafts, women’s work culture, sports activities, and other essential aspects of the Samogitian region. It also hosts temporary exhibitions that showcase folk art

and contemporary artwork. Additionally, the museum regularly conducts educational activities and tours for visitors of all ages, schools, and international tourists. These initiatives attract tourists not only from Skuodas but also from abroad, contributing to the preservation of the region's culture and history. The Skuodas Museum also collaborates with the Lithuanian Local History Society, collecting and preserving ethnographic material accessible to students, pupils, teachers, and other visitors. The museum supports local folk artists and helps organize and present their work to the public. In 2014, the Skuodas Manor estate was added to the Register of Cultural Heritage of Lithuania, highlighting the historical significance of this site.
