Bulakavo Manor, located in Bulotiškė village, Lazdijai district, began its history in 1550 when it was founded by Felicijus Bulhakas. Over several centuries, the manor was managed by various noble families, including the Naruševičiai and Karengos, who endowed it with classical features and transformed it into an important regional landmark. The manor complex, notable for its unique layout with an enclosed courtyard, includes the surviving stables and palace. During the Gavronski period, the manor was associated with the nearby Aštrioji Kirsna Manor. Unfortunately, during the Soviet era, the palace was heavily reconstructed and partly lost its authentic appearance. Today, Bulakavo Manor is unused but retains its historical charm.

In Bulotiškė village, Lazdijai district, the venerable Bulakavo Manor recounts a history spanning over 470 years. Founded in 1550 by Felicijus Bulhakas, the manor became the estate of various Lithuanian nobles – the Naruševičiai, Karengos, and Gavronskis – whose owners not only adapted the manor to the demands of their time but also preserved its unique layout. The Karengo family in the 18th century was particularly significant to the development of Bulakavo Manor; they not only transformed the manor into a Neoclassical estate but also created a closed courtyard-like area with the palace at the center and
symmetrically arranged agricultural buildings. The manor's office building can be considered a distinctive structure due to its architectural resemblance to the Aštrioji Kirsna palace – its structure with a four-column portico is reminiscent of the Karengo Neoclassical palace. In 1940, the manor was nationalized and severely damaged during Soviet-era reconstructions. Distinguished by its architecture and historical value, Bulakavo Manor, alongside other Dzūkija manors like Rudamina, Aštrioji Kirsna, and Budvietis, remains a cultural heritage site that attracts enthusiasts of history and architecture.
