Old Jewish Cemetery of Rudamina

In the town of Rudamina, which has a rich history, the Jewish community began to establish itself in the late 18th century. In 1800, around 50 Jews lived here, and by 1900, their numbers had grown to over 200. This growth reflects the Jewish contribution to the region's culture and economy. It is believed that the cemetery area was leased from the Gavronski family, who owned Rudamina. The cemetery was enclosed by a stone wall, but due to natural processes, the exact number of remaining gravestones is unknown, with many being overgrown with grass and vegetation. The best-preserved gravestones can be found in section P of the cemetery, showcasing the cultural heritage of this community. The Rudamina cemetery is an important site that serves as a reminder of the Jewish contribution to the region's history and attracts tourists interested in cultural heritage.
