Sculpture "Piter-Warszava"

In Utena, near the historic St. Petersburg–Warsaw road, stands a unique sculpture created by Latvian artist Mara Kalnina from Rezekne. This granite work, about one meter in height and a gift to the people of Utena, symbolizes important travel points. The sculpture features the letters “P” and “W,” marking the endpoints of the old route, while the first letter of Utena subtly appears between them, representing the intermediate station.

The sculpture not only beautifies Utena but also serves as a reminder of the history connected to the St. Petersburg–Warsaw route, encouraging travelers to discover and appreciate the cultural heritage.
