The town of Pikelių is renowned for its distinctive church, a state-significant architectural monument that features a blend of Renaissance and Baroque styles. This church, which houses seven altars considered state-significant art monuments in their own right, is one of the oldest and most charming wooden churches not only in the Mažeikiai district but also in the wider region. Erected in the 18th century, this sanctuary might appear oversized for the small town of Pikelių from the outside, but its interior amazes visitors with an authentic Catholic feel and a free expression of Baroque style, shaped by various expansions over the centuries.
Not far from the church stands a memorial pillar, erected in 1827, reminding passersby of the catastrophic plague of 1710 that swept through Lithuania, urging them to pray for its victims.
