The town of Vyžuonos, located in the Utena district near the Vyžuona and Šventoji rivers, is one of the largest ancestral estates of the Radziwiłł family. Every year, during the St. Magdalene fair, hundreds of people return to their homeland. The lively and active community continuously strives to beautify the town, and in 2021, Vyžuonos was named the small cultural capital of Lithuania.
In 2023, the town was adorned with a 3.5-meter-high metal sculpture titled "Sun," dedicated to the memory of local artist Henrikas Orakauskas. The sculpture was unveiled in the town center with an accompanying theatrical and musical performance. The idea for the sculpture arose from the lack of a symbolic object in the town center, as after the post-war destruction of the Jewish quarter and the demolition of the monument dedicated to freedom fighters, Vyžuonos was left without a symbol reflecting the region's history.
