Degaičiai Park, established in the late 19th century, is one of the most notable attractions in the Telšiai district. This mixed-design park covers 6 hectares, with recent expansions extending it to a total of 18.2 hectares. In 1986, the park was recognized as a local natural monument, and in 2017, it was included in the list of nationally significant parks, becoming an important part of Lithuania’s cultural heritage. The park’s pathways meander through ponds, sports and play areas, and interesting greenery, as well as various public buildings. The landscape is dominated by oaks and fir trees, while exotic species

like the blue spruce, Siberian fir, Douglas fir, and Siberian pine add a distinctive character to the park. Degaičiai Park is home to 300 species of trees and around 100 species of flowers, many of which were planted by the naturalist Adolfas Kišonas. Visitors to the park can marvel at a unique exhibit – a gigantic bicycle weighing 1,800 kg, which is 400 kg heavier than its predecessor that earned a Guinness World Record for being the world’s heaviest bicycle. This remarkable place undoubtedly enriches the experience of every tourist, offering the opportunity to enjoy both natural beauty and cultural heritage.
