One of the highest hills in the Mergiškiai Landscape Reserve, Gelionių Hill, marks the boundary between the villages of Antaveršis and Polesė. This hill is composed of glacial drift deposits containing 30% to 40% gravel and cobbles, with particle sizes ranging from 2 mm to 80 mm. During the Soviet era, high-quality non-ferrous construction materials were extensively mined here. Later, to align with both national defense and environmental protection goals, the former quarry was rehabilitated. Today, a stunning panorama of Lake Antaveršis can be enjoyed from the observation platform established by the military.
