Roof Pillars in Vabalninkas

In Žolinės Square in Vabalninkas stands a distinctive roof pillar, which has become a major symbol of the town. Inscribed on it are the words of poet Juozas Strielkūnas: “Homeland, you are the wave that carries us all. Homeland, you are the window to bright ages. You are the mountain gray from our sufferings, you are the tower rising above our hopes.” On S. Nėris Street, near the cultural center, there is also a roof pillar dedicated to the 450th anniversary of Vabalninkas, which features the Vabalninkas coat of arms.
