The Raubonys watermill, established in 1775 by the Tatula River, began its history as a wooden structure owned by General Baron Ulrich Sacken of the Imperial Russian Army, the owner of Raudonpamūšė Manor. In the latter half of the 19th century, the property was transferred to Baron Ludwig von Ropp, who is believed to have constructed the current red brick building. In 1907, Latvian Jonas Ribė transformed the mill into a center for wool carding and spinning, thus expanding its production activities. The uniqueness of this enterprise lay in the modern technology of that time, including English and Swedish carding machines and spinning machines, which were introduced by the Jewish businessman Chackel Ziv. This historic equipment operated until 1997.
