The Plateliai Manor Barn, characterized by the folk architectural features of the late 19th century with neo-Gothic elements, was renovated in 2011 to present the history of the Plateliai Manor, the ancient town of Plateliai, the past of Castle Island, and the ethnography of this Samogitian region. The complex also includes a new nature exhibition and a space for changing exhibitions. Visitors can learn fascinating facts about Sofija Tyzenhauzaitė Choiseul-Gouffier, who personally knew Napoleon Bonaparte and Russian Tsar Alexander I. The exhibits reveal stories about treasure hunters who sought the legendary treasures of Queen Bona on the island of Lake Plateliai and introduce the 17th-century popular sport game Ripka, which is regaining popularity today. The exhibition also includes a narrative about the region's smallest bird, which weighs less than a 2-euro coin.
