This is a small hill resembling a burial mound. Its base diameter is 28 meters, with a height of 3–3.5 meters and fairly steep slopes, with a slightly sunken top. In the past, the hill was surrounded by swamps, which are now drained. Various-sized stones are found on the top and slopes of the hill. A 6-meter diameter pit has been dug at the top of the hill, with its edges planted with trees. About 10 meters south and southeast of the hillfort, there is a drainage ditch. In 2005, when the Rosary Mysteries Park was being constructed, a road was built about 10 meters from the hillfort, a parking lot was installed nearby, chapels were built, and ponds were dug. The hillfort, called Pajauta's Grave and Hare's Church, is associated with pagan worship. According to the legendary part of the Lithuanian Chronicle, after Živinbudas' death, his son Kukovaitis became the duke. "That year, the mother of the Grand Duke of Lithuania and Samogitia, Kukovaitis, named Pajauta, died at a very old age. And Grand Duke Kukovaitis, loving his mother, to honor her memory, made an idol in her likeness and erected it at Lake Žasliai, naming it after his mother Pajauta. The
idol was worshiped, and Pajauta was considered a goddess. Later, the idol decayed, and linden trees grew in that place. These linden trees were worshiped and are still revered to this day, remembering Pajauta." It is said that the hill is the grave of a warrior named Pajauta. The duke was killed during a battle that took place here. The soldiers buried him by piling up a mound with their helmets. Since Pajauta was buried here, the nearest village was called Pajautiškės. It is also said that this place is sacred and was the site of a former church. Another legend tells of a duke named Žaslas who lived in the area. He was killed during a battle with enemies. His relatives wept for him. The pit where the earth was taken to build his grave remained. His fiancée Pajauta cried so much that she filled the pit with tears. Since then, a lake, named Žaslas, has formed there. And where Duke Žaslas' grave is, a mound was piled up. Pajauta, his fiancée, grieved deeply and died of sorrow. She was buried there as well. People said the mound was covered with large stones, but they were removed when the railway was being built around the mid-19th century.
