Chapel and Shrines in the Rosary Mysteries Park

In 2002, when Pope John Paul II added a new part—the Mysteries of Light—to the Rosary prayer, a unique sacred Rosary Mysteries path and park was established in 2006 in Guroniai village, at the homestead of Cardinal Vincentas Sladkevičius. The park, featuring frescoes and a sculpture by artist Antanas Kmieliauskas, was created to commemorate this esteemed shepherd who deeply cherished the Rosary prayer. The chosen location for the park aimed to honor his memory, as Cardinal Sladkevičius remains a symbol of humility, profound love for the homeland, and people. His phrase "Freedom is never given as a gift" has become a cornerstone of national identity. Adjacent to the park, there is a retreat house and a museum.
