The Alytus City Garden Fountain is one of the city’s oldest and most romantic symbols, built in 1939 based on a design by engineer V. Trečiokas. The fountain, with its small basin once home to goldfish and blooming lilies, was envisioned as the heart of the park – a sun, from which paths radiate like rays. This historical fountain stands in the very center of the City Garden, a park established in 1931 and known for its rose gardens. Squirrels scurry nearby, events are held, and dates here become unforgettable memories. Due to its historical and cultural significance, the fountain is listed in the Register of Immovable Cultural Heritage.
