Over time, it became an important symbol of the city and a cultural landmark. Although the trees were cut down after the harsh winter of 1939, new chestnuts were replanted after the war. Today, Chestnut Alley remains one of the most tranquil recreational spots in Šiauliai, offering both cultural and natural relaxation for locals and tourists alike.
