Rodai Chapel

Rodai Chapel, located in the Panevėžys district, in Rodai II village, was built in 1861 according to the design of the Italian architect L. C. Anikinis. This neo-Gothic style chapel was intended for the family cemetery of the noble Švoinickis family. Several family members were buried in the chapel, including Romanas Švoinickis, a participant in the 1863–1864 uprising and an artist. After World War II, the chapel was abandoned and suffered from vandalism. Under the care of Canon Petras Budriūnas, the pastor of Krekenava, the chapel was restored and rebuilt in 2000. Currently, services are held in the chapel, particularly on the last Sunday of the month and weekly in June. It is also a place for celebrating small Scapular feasts, preparing children for First Communion, performing the Sacrament of Baptism, and blessing newlyweds.
