Palanga Kurhaus is one of the most important symbols of the resort, with its history beginning in 1877 when it was established by the Tiškevičiai family as a restaurant and hotel. Quickly becoming a popular gathering place for vacationers, it hosted dances, concerts, and performances. After burning down in 2002, the Kurhaus was restored and rebuilt in 2012, with authentic details such as oak parquet floors and an 18th-century chandelier recreated. In 2021, the wooden part of the Kurhaus was opened, housing a theater hall for events and official receptions. Since 2015, the Palanga Culture Center has been located here, organizing over 250 events annually.

Palanga Kurhaus is a symbol of the resort, with its history rooted in the Tiškevičiai family dynasty. In 1877, Count J. Tiškevičius built a spacious restaurant at the corner of Vytauto and J. Basanavičiaus streets, which was soon expanded and became the first hotel of the resort. The Kurhaus quickly became a popular gathering place for vacationers, offering not only a restaurant but also a reading room, billiards, and game halls, as well as hosting dances, performances, and concerts. It was the heart of the resort. In 1910, an artesian well was dug here, providing the resort with better drinking water. In 2002, the Kurhaus burned down, but its restoration began in 2012. Over the course of a year, the

brick structure was rebuilt, with authentic details restored according to old blueprints, including molding, oak parquet, wallpaper, and an 18th-century chandelier in the main hall. In 2021, the wooden part of the building was restored and opened to the public. This section now houses a theater hall where performances, films, conferences, and rehearsals take place. The elegant representative hall hosts official receptions, and the Kurhaus has also become a place for marriage registrations. Since 2015, the Palanga Culture Center has been based in the Kurhaus, organizing over 250 events annually. It is a space where ethnic culture, professional art, and a variety of cultural education programs thrive.
