In the center of Vilnius, at V. Kudirka Square, near the Government Palace, stands the monument to Vincas Kudirka – the author of the Lithuanian national anthem, writer, composer, and a prominent national revivalist. The monument features a nearly 4-meter-tall bronze sculpture of Kudirka, alongside a trapezoidal obelisk, 12.5 meters high, engraved with the lyrics of the anthem. The sculpture, unveiled in 2009, was created by sculptor Arūnas Sakalauskas and architect Ričardas Krištopavičius, with flowing water adding vitality to the work. Kudirka's ideas, published in the "Varpas" magazine, encouraged love for Lithuania, and his lyrics became the national anthem in 1919.

The monument to Vincas Kudirka in Vilnius is an important symbol of Lithuanian culture and patriotism, honoring one of the most prominent national revivalists of the late 19th century. Located at V. Kudirka Square, near the Government Palace, the monument pays tribute to the creator of the Lithuanian national anthem and his profound love for his homeland. The nearly 4-meter-tall bronze sculpture, created by sculptor Arūnas Sakalauskas, stands next to a 12.5-meter trapezoidal obelisk, on which the lyrics of the Lithuanian national anthem are engraved. This composition, complemented by flowing water elements, adds life and a sense of tranquility to the monument. The monument was unveiled in July 2009. The face
of Vincas Kudirka, immortalized in the sculpture, conveys not only his outward appearance but also an inner joy and deep love for Lithuania. Kudirka was a writer, composer, doctor, and public figure, actively calling on his fellow countrymen to take pride in their roots. His ideas were published in the "Varpas" magazine, where the lyrics and music for the future Lithuanian national anthem were first presented. Kudirka's lyrics became the official national anthem of Lithuania in 1919, and their patriotic spirit remains alive to this day. This monument not only honors Vincas Kudirka as the creator of the anthem but also serves as a reminder of every Lithuanian's duty to cherish their country and its values.
