The Abraham Kulvietis Obelisk is a monument dedicated to the 16th-century Lithuanian intellectual and pioneer of Lithuanian literature. It stands on a high hill (117 meters above sea level) near Kulva in the Jonava district.
Abraham Kulvietis (1510–1545), who studied at five European universities, founded the first higher school in Vilnius and contributed to the establishment of the University of Königsberg. His legacy includes the first Lithuanian Reformation text, Confession of Faith, and a hymn included in Martynas Mažvydas’ hymnal. Kulvietis left a profound mark on Lithuania’s cultural and educational history.
