The first wooden church in Lankeliškiai, built by B. Berdovskis and S. Campa, was consecrated in 1679. A century later, the church underwent repairs, and in 1817, a brick church was constructed. However, its fate was tragic—it was blown up in 1944. Temporarily, a church was established at the Klampučiai Manor, and in 1950, a single-story wooden church was built. Lankeliškiai also remembers the tragic event of 1941, when three priests were killed by NKVD officers.
