Although today the Laukžemės Manor appears as a forgotten shadow of the past, its walls guard impressive stories. Mentioned since the 16th century as an agricultural estate, the current manor house was built in 1903, when the estate was owned by the von Štempel family. Once, this manor's grandeur rivaled even that of the Tiškevičiai estate in Kretinga.
A park with fruit orchards, three ponds, and a pavilion was established near the manor. It is said that a tunnel led from the manor’s cellars to the pavilion, where mysterious treasures and enchanted wine were kept. Not far from the manor still stands a unique warehouse – a grain storage building, one of the few remaining in Lithuania.
Despite the marks of time and human activity, the Laukžemės Manor still entices with its mystery and historical charm.
