In 1903, a wooden Orthodox church was erected in Pasvalys, funded by the state budget, serving religious purposes until 1948. Afterward, the church was temporarily used as a grain storage facility, and in 1958 it officially lost its status as a religious building. This historic structure remained unused until 1978, when it became the new home for the Pasvalys brass band "Dūdorius." During World War I, German soldiers were buried in the churchyard, but their graves were dismantled during the Soviet era. In later years, the church became a refuge for ethnographic artifacts found in vanishing villages. Today, it still houses some roofed pillar crosses and chapel pillars, bearing witness to the memory and cultural heritage of the past.
