Kašučiai Lake is the only lake in the Kretinga region, famous not only for its fish abundance but also for its mysterious history. It is believed that beneath the lake’s surface lies a kūlgrinda – a secret stone-paved path. Discovered a few decades ago, this kūlgrinda has sparked many debates: Is it an ancient Curonian pathway, a Soviet-era route, or perhaps a sacred ceremonial path? While these theories await confirmation, visitors are drawn to the lake's beauty, tranquility, and legends. According to local stories, the lake was formed after a giant water ball fell from the sky. The nearby Tyro Marsh adds to the mystery, making this place a perfect destination for curious travelers.
