Located in the grazing fields of Pesčiai village, the village cemetery operated from the late 16th to 18th century, later becoming an important part of historical memory. In 1946–1947, partisan fighters who died in the battles near Salantai were secretly buried here: Bronius Jurčius, Bernardas and Petras Pauliai, Jonas Salys, and Juozas Sodys. In 1997, a memorial was erected in their honor, designed by engineer Vytautas Valiukonis. The monument serves as a reminder of the heroic resistance and the significance of this site in Lithuanian history.
