The Old Įpiltis archaeological complex combines the mysteries of the past with the beauty of nature. It consists of three hillforts, a burial site, and the ritualistic Altar Stone. The most impressive is the Pilalė hillfort, also known as Mary’s Hill, which rises near a pond. The War Hillfort stands by the Šventoji River, and nearby, on the slope of the Šventoji River, lies the Warriors' Cemetery. Near Graistupis, next to Pilalė, is the Altar Stone, from which a spring, known for its healing powers, flows.
This archaeological complex dates back to the 1st millennium BC – 13th century AD. It is believed that here stood the Įpiltis Castle, mentioned in sources between 1253–1291, which protected the region's defensive line. This place is not only a historical heritage site but also a center of magical natural attraction.
