Commemorative Plaque for the 70th Anniversary of the Kadagys Unit's Founding

A commemorative plaque has been installed at Romualdas Jonutis' homestead on Kretingos Street to mark the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Kadagys (Bugantas) Unit of the Žemaičiai District. The plaque was unveiled on May 29, 2015, in honor of this significant event in the history of Lithuanian partisan resistance.
The idea for this monument was initiated by Juozapas Antanas Viluckas, chairman of the Kartenos Independence Struggle Commemoration Society, and its execution was carried out by stonemason Kęstutis Domarkas. This symbolic site honors the struggles of the partisans and their pursuit of Lithuania’s freedom.
