Gačionys Manor is an impressive neoclassical wooden structure built in 1829, nestled amidst a picturesque park by Lake Gačionys. Designed by a French architect in the 19th century, this manor is considered one of the most unique wooden estates in Lithuania. The park features a century-old linden avenue, restored 19th-century ponds, and the Skardžius stream. This enchanting location inspired Polish writer Józef Weysenhoff to pen his novel “The Sable and the Lady.” The manor has hosted distinguished guests, including Polish President Bronisław Komorowski. Visits to the manor are available only by prior arrangement, respecting the privacy of its owners. Restoration works are currently underway.

Historical records mention the manor estate as early as 1596, and it has retained its historical charm to this day. The park captivates visitors with its century-old linden alleys, restored 19th-century ponds, and tranquil natural surroundings, which are home to grey cranes and great egrets. The manor inspired renowned Polish writer Józef Weysenhoff to write the novel “The Sable and the Lady,”

vividly describing the estate's environment and the region's nature. Gačionys Manor has long been a cultural landmark, hosting notable figures such as Polish President Bronisław Komorowski and other esteemed guests. The manor’s current owner, Baron Piotr Rosen, continues to maintain a connection with this historic site. Today, Gačionys Manor offers an excellent opportunity to explore Lithuania's manor heritage. However, visits must be arranged in advance with the owners. As restoration work is ongoing, visitors are encouraged to respect the privacy of this significant cultural site and its legacy.
