The Emilija Pliaterytė Museum in Kapčiamiestis was established in 1984 within the local secondary school and became part of the Lazdijai Regional Museum in 2006, named after Emilija Pliaterytė. The museum features four exhibits, one of which is dedicated to Captain Emilija Pliaterytė of the 1831 Uprising. Visitors can learn about the history of Kapčiamiestis from ancient times, the periods of exile and resistance, the history of the school, and the region’s cultural traditions. The exhibit is rich with materials about notable figures from the region and their contributions.
