Church of St. Anne in Vaičaičiai

In the village of Vaičaičiai, near the Ylakiai-Seda road and the Luoba River, stands a wooden, rectangular-plan church with a single tower and an apse. The churchyard is enclosed by a wooden fence, and within it, there is a belfry. In 1906, three villagers petitioned the bishop for permission to build a church. The church was designed in 1907, but due to financial constraints, construction was delayed. Father Anicetas Barkauskas began services in a chapel in 1913. The current church was built between 1920 and 1921, and it was consecrated by Bishop Pranciškus Karevičius in 1922. A parish was established here in 1936.
