The Žemytė ancient settlement, located in the western part of Skuodas district, in the village of Žemytė (Lenkimai elderate), just 23 meters from the Kretinga–Skuodas road, is a unique object of historical value. This area extends in a northeast-southwest direction, is irregularly shaped, 126 meters long and 84 meters wide, covering an area of 0.92 hectares. In the northern part of the site, a slightly elevated relief marks the current Žemytė village cemetery, and nearby—about 87 meters to the northeast—is the ancient Žemytė burial site.

Historical sources confirm that this settlement was actively used in the second half of the first
millennium to the beginning of the second millennium. In the 16th century, Žemytė cemetery was established here, adding to the area's archaeological heritage. Over time, the cultural layer was damaged due to various land works, but fragments of molded pottery are still found southeast of the cemetery. In 2005, this site was included in the Lithuanian cultural values registry of archaeological sites (A1879) and recognized as a protected cultural value (unique code 30301). This historical site reflects the features of Curonian material culture and is an important tourist destination attracting travelers interested in cultural and heritage tourism.
