A journey to "Vilnoja" wouldn't be complete without admiring the unique rotunda church on the outskirts of Sudervė. Its neoclassical architecture, possibly designed by the renowned Lithuanian classicism master Laurynas Stuoka-Gucevičius, captivates the eye. This sanctuary, built in the early 19th century, stands as a testament to historical architectural beauty.
Just a kilometer from this church lies the "Vilnoja" Stone Sculpture Park, named after the nearby lake. This park ingeniously integrates sculptures on both land and water, creating a harmonious blend of art
and nature.
The park's founder, Vidmantas Martikonis, organized the first granite sculpture symposium in 2001, inviting top Lithuanian artists. The following year, the event gained international significance, attracting participants from Latvia, Sweden, Russia, Poland, Belarus, and other countries worldwide.
Today, the park features over 70 monumental granite sculptures, symbolizing international collaboration and creativity. It offers foreign artists a unique opportunity to experience Lithuania and its culture, while providing a space for creative freedom.
