Although artist Sofija Dembovskytė-Romerienė only spent part of her life in Tytuvėnai, the town remains an important place in her family’s cultural legacy. In 2015, to commemorate the 130th anniversary of the artist's birth, the Tytuvėnai community aimed to honor her memory by erecting a monument in the town center. A competition was held, where artists presented their ideas, and the selection committee chose from seven candidates. The winner was Gintautas Lukošaitis, a sculptor from Šiauliai, whose work best captured the artist’s spiritual and cultural significance. The unveiling ceremony took place on October 2, beginning with a Mass at the Tytuvėnai Church
of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Queen of Angels. After the service, actress Andrėja Gričiutė performed a short play revealing the life and work of Sofija Romerienė. Various distinguished guests attended the ceremony, including Members of Parliament Orinta Leiputė and Alma Monkauskaitė, Tytuvėnai Parish Priest Rimantas Žaromskis, local authorities, and sculptor Gintautas Lukošaitis himself. This monument not only honors the memory of the artist but also symbolizes the Romer family’s importance in Tytuvėnai's cultural life. It is a place where residents and visitors can reflect on the artist’s influence and appreciate the town's historical heritage.
