The Lepelioniai Hillfort, dated to the 1st millennium–early 2nd millennium, is one of the most impressive archaeological sites in Lithuania. Its shape resembles the popular hats of the 19th century, leading to its nickname “Napoleon's Hat.” Another name by which this hillfort is known is the Krištapiškiai Hillfort. At the base of the hillfort lies a settlement covering 3.5 hectares, where various types of pottery have been discovered, both smooth and rough. These valuable artifacts are now preserved by the National Museum of Lithuania.
