The hillfort was formed on a separate hill on the left bank of the Šetekšna (Jara) River, at its confluence with an unnamed stream, at the end of the 1st millennium BC and the first half of the 1st millennium AD. Smooth pottery was found on the hillfort's site. The hillfort has been heavily disturbed by a cemetery established on it. The slopes are covered with trees. In 1992, the hillfort was included in the Register of Cultural Heritage, in 1998 it was declared a cultural monument, and in 2005 it was recognized as a state-protected cultural heritage site.
