Akmenytė Spring is a unique natural heritage site in Kupiškis, discovered during geological explorations in 1951–1952. The spring flows from an 88.31-meter-deep borehole that reaches Devonian rock formations. Before this discovery, the spring trickled from a small hollow on the bank of the Lėvuo River.
The name originates from the abundance of stones in the area. According to legend, the devil, while carrying stones, scattered them across the Akmenytė meadows. The spring reflects the natural diversity and history of the Kupiškis region, while its surroundings invite visitors to enjoy the serene beauty of nature.
