In 1773, nobleman Mikalojus Šmigelskis built a wooden church in Ceikiniai and endowed it with a benefice. In 1921, a parish was established. During World War I, the church burned down and was rebuilt only after the war. In 1947, Father Bronius Laurinavičius expanded the church. From 1963 to 1979, Father Karolis Garuckas, who actively defended the rights of believers, served as pastor (he is buried in the churchyard). In 2016, the church burned again. The current Ceikiniai Church of the Holy Name of the Blessed Virgin Mary was rebuilt in just one year – in 2017, thanks to the initiative of the Ceikiniai community. In the churchyard stands a three-story wooden bell tower that survived the fire.
