The Ginučiai water mill was built in the second half of the 19th century by the landowner Gimžauskas from Linkmenai, who enlisted the help of several farmers. However, not everyone was satisfied with this mill, as it flooded the fields farmed by the peasants, leading to local court disputes between the peasants and Gimžauskas. After Gimžauskas's death, the entire mill was transferred to the village. During the war, many surrounding mills were burned down or destroyed, so people came from distant places to grind their grain here. The paintings by folk artist Petras Gaižutis hanging on the walls of the mill's premises depict various stories and legends associated with the mill. Around 1968, the mill ceased operations due to equipment failure, and in 1978, the Ignalina Tourist Base purchased and began renovating it. Currently, the mill is state-protected and belongs to the Directorate of the Aukštaitija National Park, housing a museum of the mill's equipment.
