The spring is located on the southwestern outskirts of Aukštadvaris, on the left bank of the Verknė oxbow. The cold, high-quality spring water flows into the Verknė oxbow, on whose banks, before World War II, stood a mill, a sawmill, and a bridge. The local residents have used this water not only for drinking but also for medicinal purposes since ancient times. In 1959, after the construction of the hydroelectric power plant, the Verknė River changed its course and began to flow a bit further from the town, leaving behind a barely noticeable oxbow. This oxbow is fed by low-flow springs from the slopes and trout ponds, whose waters join the main channel only after the power plant. The steep, tree-covered, spring-laden slopes are intriguing. Rare plants such as the common watercress and orchids grow here.
