In 2016, marking the 150th anniversary of Ignalina town, an impressive sculpture titled "Cyclist," created by local artist Jonas Grunda, was unveiled in Liberty Square on June 24. This warmly smiling and waving figure has become a new symbol of Ignalina. Not only does it adorn the central square, but it also serves as a reminder of Ignalina as a region of tourism, sports, and recreation, promoting active leisure and a healthy lifestyle.
