Pastrėvis Hydroelectric Plant

Pastrėvis Hydroelectric Plant was built in 1998 on the Strėva River in Bačkonys village, near the former Bačkonys power plant, which was built in 1955 and operated until the 1970s. It is the first 300 kW capacity power plant of UAB "Renerga," producing 1.7 million kWh of electricity annually. Following the recommendations of landscape heritage protection specialists, the company reinforced the slopes of the nearby hillforts at Pastrėvis mHE.
